My husband and I have had a hard time finding an ideal coffee table that would be good size to fit in our living room, and to be of multiple purpose and beautiful at the same time. For this reason we have decided to create our own ideal coffee table.

There are so many options out there for coffee tables, but remember you don’t have to be limited to just having it from the furniture shop. Here, we used a beautiful piece of solid wood that was previously used for train track (no idea how old it is). The table is made of 100% oak wood with different shapes imbedded in it and a touch of history; it has unique patters, dents and unevenly structures that highlight nature and its nature’s prints.
Sometimes you have to get creative and artistic when making your furniture to make it look unique and timeless. Rather than typical table legs, we used crossed legs to give character not only to the coffee table but also to the room which changed it dramatically. All the beautiful natural features such as holes and cracks were filled with transparent resin followed by varnish all over the table.
